Fall Financial Aid Workshops
Take advantage of SSS professional development coming to a city near you. The 2009 Fall Financial Aid Workshops are held in several cities throughout the country. Before each two-day Financial Aid Workshop, we offer an additional New Professional Day, which is geared to practitioners who have worked in financial aid for two years or less.
Read more in the SSS Workshop informational brochure (pdf).
The workshops will guide you through case studies, group discussions, individual activities, and presenter-facilitated forums to help you understand how to:
- use the new Comp*Assist Online and other SSS by NAIS tools to make efficient financial aid decisions;
- apply key concepts in calculating family contributions;
- create stronger financial aid policy and procedures to professionalize financial aid operations; and
- consider trends in a discussion of affordability challenges in these difficult economic times.

"The interactions with other financial aid professionals are infinitely helpful at the SSS Financial Aid Workshops. Working on case studies, everyone had a chance to share their own experiences and how they handled different problems. After hearing seasoned professionals talk about situations that I could never have imagined coming up, I felt much more prepared for my first year." - Deanna Belcher, The School at Columbia University (NY)
